A tremendous opportunity has arisen for an experienced SMSF-focused Manager to join a highly regarded boutique Chartered Accounting practice and Family Office in the Sydney CBD. This role is ideal for a technically strong professional who enjoys working closely with high-net-worth clients, private groups and high-touch advisory environments. You’ll take ownership of a significant SMSF portfolio, work directly with directors, and play a key role across Business Services and Tax. For the right person, there is genuine scope for long-term progression within a discreet, relationship-driven practice.

The Opportunity

This full-time, permanent role will see you managing approximately 25 SMSFs end-to-end while also overseeing a mixed portfolio of private clients. You will join a small, experienced team that values discretion, technical excellence and long-term client stewardship.

You’ll work onsite in modern Sydney CBD offices, collaborating closely with senior leaders while maintaining autonomy over your workflow and client relationships.


Key Responsibilities

  • Manage ~25 SMSFs independently, including preparation of all annual compliance, financial statements, tax returns and workpapers

  • End-to-end SMSF administration using Class Super

  • Preparation and review of tax returns and financial statements for high-net-worth individuals, companies, trusts and family groups

  • Act as primary contact for an allocated client portfolio

  • Support senior practitioners with technical matters, advisory projects and tax planning

  • Maintain a high standard of accuracy, compliance and timely lodgements

  • Contribute to process improvements and workflow efficiencies within the team


About You

  • Minimum 5+ years' experience in a quality CA or public practice environment

  • Strong SMSF technical capability with hands-on management of funds

  • Proficient in Class Super

  • Confident managing a portfolio with minimal supervision

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • High attention to detail and strong organisational capability

  • CA/CPA qualified (preferred)
